This comic was made for a class assignment where I was instructed to teach someone how to do something in an engaging way. I chose to make a comic about the jammer position in roller derby.

Finding Home
Animatic & Storyboard, BFA Capstone Project 2022
Finding Home is an animatic that explores themes of identity, belonging, and finding a place that feels like ‘home’ outside of where you live. By portraying the juxtaposed relationship between an alien who wants to go home and a human who wants to leave, this story encourages people to think about these complex feelings through effective storytelling, character development, and animation.
Programs used: After Effects, Photoshop
Timeline: 6 months (Entire project)
2 months (Storyboarding and animatic editing)

Balloon Dad
Storyboard
This is a freelance storyboard I developed for a dialogue-free short animated film titled Balloon Dad, which explores themes such as death, aging, and family. I worked from an original 7-page script written by Jonny Glines.
This storyboard follows a father-and-son-traveling-duo hiking forest terrain on a mysterious flat earth that crumbles and disintegrates from the edges. It’s a world filled with odd magic: peaceful 4-legged-giants roam the mountains, magic “balloon berries” cause living things to inflate like balloons, and glowing particles in the woods make humans age fast. When a storm nearly rips the Dad and son apart for good, the two learn it is better to age together than to live alone.
